Photo access

At That Age needs access to your photo library to find pictures by date. Full access works best so photos aren’t missed.

1. Open Settings on your iPhone.
2. Choose Apps → At That Age → Photos.
3. Select Full Access.

Your photos stay on your device. Photo search and face matching run locally on your iPhone.

Missing or incorrect matches

The app searches around the exact target date, widening the window when needed. If a good photo is missing:

• Confirm the child’s birthday in the Kids tab.
• Make sure At That Age has full photo access.
• Teach the app a few examples of that child’s face.
• Open another result and choose Use in side by side.

If a photo shows the wrong child, tap Who’s this? and choose Neither. The app remembers that correction on your device.

Teaching faces

Teaching faces is optional, but it improves matching—especially when siblings look alike.

1. Open the Kids tab.
2. Choose a child, then tap Teach face.
3. Select that child in several photos sampled across their life and save.

Face signatures never leave your device and are not sent to the app’s developer or any server.

Purchases and restoring access

Today’s comparison and one different comparison each day are free. Choosing any age or date is a one-time purchase—not a subscription.

If you already purchased the unlock, open the Kids tab and tap Restore purchases. Make sure the iPhone is signed in to the same Apple Account used for the original purchase.

Payments and entitlements are handled by Apple through the App Store.

Moving to another iPhone

A normal Quick Start or iCloud backup should carry your setup to a new iPhone automatically.

For a fresh setup or a partner’s phone, open the Kids tab and choose Export settings. AirDrop the resulting .atthatage file or save it to Files, then open it on the other iPhone.

The export contains kids, birthdays, and taught face signatures. It does not contain your photos.
